British winter weddings are some of my favourites. The sun is low, the landscape is crisp and an air of festivity always frequents weddings at this time of year. A wedding in the luxuriously romantic Great Fosters Hotel, Surrey, is always a beautiful affair. I arrived at the stunning hotel to a bright and brisk morning.

Both Charlotte and Kevin got ready at the venue, with their best friends and bridal party in tow. Butterfly Hair put the finishing touches to Charlotte’s hair and makeup, which she tried not to spoil whilst opening touching and heart-warming gifts from her husband-to-be. In a delicate lilac, Charlotte’s exceptionally beautiful bridesmaids helped her into her Barn Bridal dress – before welling up at the bride’s gift of delicate glass baubles. It was a glorious morning, filled with gracious smiles and so much warmth between all the friends and family.

As the day progressed, excited guests made their way to the grand ceremony room, decorated with Fine Flowers Company designs. Looking dapper in his suit, Kevin anxiously awaited his bride’s arrival. After walking in, beaming and arm in arm with her father, Charlotte arrived to ecstatic smiles. A charming ceremony followed, the register was signed and the newlyweds bounded outside for photos with their overjoyed families.

Despite the cold weather, the sun was out and guests flowed between the gorgeous gardens and cosy indoor fireplaces. Kicking off the evening’s events, Charlotte and Kevin got everyone laughing with a cheeky game of Mr & Mrs. Funny speeches and the first dance followed, to signify the beginning of the party.

Before they could take their shoes off and dance the rest of the night away, Charlotte, Kevin and I snuck outside for a few dreamy backlit shots, the incredible venue in the background.

I love working with couples like Charlotte and Kevin, is a dream come true for wedding photographers. They were so relaxed and easy-going, the day was a breeze! Everyone was so utterly happy and chilled, it made for the truly memorable occasion. You can see it in the guests faces, it was a day of love, laughter and happily ever after…
