Warm light, hot coffee & cool sunsets

Hey! I'm Matt...

I love a good documentary; a film with a story, a book about a life. Give me Kerrang and baggy jeans; Metallica, Chuck Berry, and everything in between.

But more than anything, I love my family and small circle of friends.

And I think that’s my favourite thing about being a wedding photographer…

Because for just a little while, I get to be a part of your little circle. To meet all the people you’ve gathered around you, to get to know them, and hear their stories.

It’s no small thing, being invited into that. And at least once at every wedding, I look around at all the messy, love-drunk, crazy chaos, and I’m humbled to be a part of it.

Petrol head, closet skater boy, camera-shy camera guy.

I’ll take coffee over cocktails; tea over beer. I’m way too sarcastic for my own good. And I’d much rather you make fun of me than give me a compliment!

Matt, Thank you so much! The photos are utterly stunning and we had a blast working with You on the day!

But here’s the thing that stuck with me… when I got home and looked through the photos, it wasn’t the bikes or the jumps I loved. It was the mischief.

It was seeing us laughing our heads off at some ridiculous joke. Smiling to myself on my bedroom floor, reliving all those nights out and hazy mornings; the idiot energy of a close-knit few.

And when I fell into shooting weddings, I knew that’s what I wanted to capture.

The people. The memories. The mischief.

Hugs with grandparents and cake-covered faces. Laughter, affection, and every kind of love. These little snapshots of time you’ll look back on and remember.
Smiling to yourselves from twenty years away.

And oh man, we had an absolute blast together, me and my mates. Sketchy mountain trails and crazy jumps during the day; getting into all kinds of mischief at night.

One summer, back when I was young and semi-cool, I went mountain biking through the Alps.

love is about...

Ex-Northerner (I’ll buy you a drink if you spot a shred of my old accent) and closet skater boy, I grew up listening to Kerrang and grazing my knees.

As a ‘grown-up’, I spend my spare time tinkering with engines, loitering in the gym, or spending time with my nearest and dearest.

A little-known fact: I really don't like having my photo taken either!

"we love them, it really brought back the amazing memories of the day. You didn’t miss a moment!" - Lauren & PErry
