Your Eternal optimist

I’ve been a wedding photographer for 13 years now. And oh, the stories I could tell…

I’ve had a bride’s dad turn up with kid’s trousers (and another dad with no suit at all). I’ve had rainswept ceremonies, missing rings, and more “is that the time already?!” timelines than I can count.  

And honestly? It’s fine. It will always be fine. The building could fall down- we’re still gonna get some awesome photos, and we’re gonna have a fucking great time doing it! 

You’ll never have to worry, fuss, or “have a quick word”. I’ll problem-solve and delegate; revelling in the chaos, and wrapping you up in calm. Bringing that positive energy that’ll just soak through your whole experience. 

Nerves forgotten, smiles wide. 

And obviously, we’ll pray for a glorious sunset! But there’s something kinda magic about running into the rain…

Your fifteen
minutes

You’re on the platform together, waiting for the train. And quietly- for no reason at all- they wrap their arms around you. 

When we go for your couple’s session together, that’s what I want to capture. That cuddles-on-the-platform closeness. 

Not whispering in each other's ears, or wrapping arms around a tree. But those ordinary moments that feel like home.  

So we’ll go for a wander, we’ll chat, we’ll have fun. If you wanna do something different- piggybacks, champagne sprays- I’m up for it. If you’d rather just chill, we can do that too. 

And sure, we’ll chase the light- we’ll get a few showstoppers, and some wall-worthy frames. 

But more than anything, we’ll get pictures of you. Cosied-up and smitten in that ‘just-married’ glow. Loved-up and laughing away from the world.

But then one day you’ll look through your wedding album together. And as you turn the pages, your memories of the day will come tumbling back. 

Those warm-fuzzy feelings, the energy, the excitement. Morning calm, and confetti hair. The tears you didn’t catch, the jokes you didn’t hear. The story of a day that slipped by you unseen. 

And quietly with time, the story will change…

“Look how young we were there!”, and ”That’s your Great-Grandad!” Half-remembered moments, and long-forgotten smiles. People you love, and faces you miss. 

And more than anything, that’s what I want to give you. An album that endures, and gathers value with the years.

You blink, and then you’re dancing. That really is how quickly it goes.
